Homes For Sale in Westover Hills
Richmond, VA (Zone 60)
One of Richmond's most picturesque urban neighborhoods, Westover Hills is located along Richmond south bank of the James and served by the Nickel Bridge and Forest Hill Avenue.
The homes in Westover Hills are generally smaller scaled homes (<2200 SF) built prior to 1950. The homes that follow Riverside Drive, however, can be far grander and have some of the most spectaular views in the Metro. The distinctive granite colonials and cottage/cape cod styled homes give Westover Hills a striking and memorable look that is well received by the market.
Westover Hills, while developed as a deteched neighborhood, is still very dense with narrow lots along many of its streets. The streets themselves are narrow and are primarily one-way. A large majority of the residents street park making driving a test in concentration at times. This also greatly calms traffic and makes the neighborhood popular for younger families or those looking for a quieter altrnative to the Fan or Museum District.
Westover Hills Boulevard bisects the neighborhood and provides direct access to Maymont and Byrd Park on the north side of the James. The Nickel Bridge/Westover Hills Boulevard also brings much of what Fan/Museum District offer close to the residents of the neighborhood.
Much of the best offered by the James River Park System is easily accessed by Westover Hills and the rebirth of the shopping node at the Chippenham/Forsest Hill Avenue intersection has provided great retail support close by.
